Lori Sawatzky SaddleCorrections.com There is a new sensor (Impression) pad on the market, made by Port Lewis, the same people that make the cloud stirrups. This pad will tell you more then you ever wanted to know about how your saddle is fitting. And its affordable. No one should buy a saddle without trying it on with this pad. I was very fortunate and had the great opportunity to test this pad for the past year, and have tried it on about 60 horses, sometimes 2 or 3 saddles on the same horse. No one should own a horse and saddle without owning this pad. There is no reason for poor saddle fit today. Your horse is changing daily as it muscles and matures. The saddle that fits today, may not tomorrow, and now you can check your saddle everyday if you want, it takes only minutes, and the results are real... We bought an Impressions Pad the moment they were offered, though I personally have only used it with one saddle shopper so far--she rode it as per the instructions--walk/trot/canter for 30 minutes with rider. The pad showed severe bridging and pressure points in the wither/shoulder and the loins. The mare had significant muscle atrophy from the withers to the midback, in an Albion dressage, FWIW... If you love your horse, and want to know all about how your saddle fits. Get yourself an Impression Pad. It will be one of the best investments that you will ever make. I can almost guarantee it. You will probably be like me, and never leave home without it. |
